Vehavta
Financial and emotional support for wounded IDF soldiers, victims of terrorism, hospitalized patients and their families
Our Mission
Vehavta, literally “Love thy” from the Biblical verse “Love thy neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18), is a non-profit organization that provides emotional and financial support to hospitalized patients, with an emphasis on wounded IDF soldiers and the victims of terrorism.
Our “Adopt a Soldier” volunteer program at Sheba Medical Center and Rabin Medical Center helps patients and their families during their toughest of times by providing cheer, comfort, entertainment, meals and care packages.
Our volunteers personally accompany each family, strengthening their mental and physical fortitude as they regain independence.
Vehavta events are designed to provide the wounded and their families with a much-needed respite from the rehabilitation routine. These joyful events encourage, empower, and inspire them to continue their journey.
Volunteers
Our volunteers are experienced and inspirational mentors who are devoted to helping others through optimism, aid and acceptance.
All our volunteers undergo screening as well as extensive training. Our training program equips volunteers with a professional toolbox to treat the wounded and their families with the requisite level of sensitivity and professionalism, map their needs, uncover their difficulties, and assist and support them during the challenging process of rehabilitation.
Events
Vehavta hosts a variety of events throughout the year whose goal is to inject joy, entertainment and hope into the difficult routine of treatment and rehabilitation.
Our events include personal events for the injured and their families, group events, volunteer celebrations, and large gatherings that include family members.
